Het Brusselse label Spleen + is een sublabel van Alfa Matrix dat zich focust op donkere cold wave, postpunk en minimal synth acts. Dit jaar bracht het label onder andere een nieuwe single van de legendarische postpunkband The Names , een verzamelaar van onze gothic trots The Breath Of Life en een nieuwe single van de Brusselse cold wave sensatie The Ultimate Dreamers uit. Op Sinterklaas verwennen ze de postpunkliefhebber met de verzamelbox Resurgence met maar liefst 7 cd’s en in totaal 133 nummers.
Daar krijg je nog een mooi geïllustreerd boek bij van 28 bladzijden met interviews van And Also The Trees, John Fyer (producer van Clan Of Xymox, X-mal Deutschland, Cocteau Twins), Mona Mur, Pink Turns Blue, Ronny Moorings (Clan Of Xymox), Skeletal Family, Jean-Marc Lederman en nog vele anderen.
Alle bands die op deze box staan zijn nog steeds actief zijn waardoor het niet weer de zoveelste postpunk verzamelaar is waar alleen maar steeds dezelfde klassiekers op staan. Natuurlijk staan er op Resugence bands die al jaren bezig zijn zoals Skeletal Family (nu zonder de originele zangeres Anne-Marie Hurst), Attrition (ook met een ander line-up dan in de beginjaren), Pink Turns Blue, Star Industry, Dead Souls Rising, Götterdammerung, Ataraxia, No More, John Fryer met zijn project Black Needle Noise , Collection D’Arnell-Andrea, Jean-Luc De Meyer (Front 242, Underviewer) en kan je op deze box ook de samenwerking vinden tussen Red Zebra-frontman Peter Slabbynck en de Italiaanse Numa Echos.
De Belgische scene is goed vertegenwoordigd met Partikul, The Ultimate Dreamers, A Slice Of Life, Der Klinke, Psy’aviah, Korinthians, Underviewer en onze eigen Nel & J.P. met hun gedreven dance floor killer Desinteresse. Daarnaast zijn er nog bands uit 22 andere landen waarvan bekende namen zoals Boy Harsher, Merciful Nuns, Noemie Aurora, The Halo Trees en Dead Souls Rising.
