Soms kom je van die bands tegen die je vanaf de eerste noot doen beseffen dat het goed zit. Het Luikse vijftal O.S.H. is er zo één. De rare lettercombinatie staat voor Ode To Space Hassle. Wat dat ook mag betekenen, maar wie de moeite doet om hun eerste ep Love Won’t Find My Way te beluisteren snapt meteen waar het hem bij deze vijf om draait.
Psychedelische popliedjes vol weemoed die je tegelijkertijd Spacemen 3 of The Velvet Underground doen mompelen. Nu goed, we beseffen zelf ook wel dat je in een tijdspanne van een paar minuten een hele platenkast kan vullen met bands die in deze vijver vissen, maar wat O.S.H. zo speciaal maakt is dat het bij hem niet per se om de sfeer draait (hoewel die zeker belangrijk is), maar dat deze Luikenaars ook enorm veel belang hechten aan de songs zelf. Het zijn stuk voor stuk liedjes die je hart breken. Bijna tearjerkers zonder schaamte, maar geschreven met de klasse van een Townes Van Zandt.
Zes topsongs die sowieso de richting naar de plaat met de banaan zouden hebben gevonden. Opener You Shine Like A Thousand Suns raakt met zijn zeven minuten aan de typische psychedelische kaap van langgerekte songs zonder ook maar één seconde te vervelen. Straf! De rest klokt af rond de drie minuten, of hoe je in 180 seconden essentie kan vastleggen. Absoluut te volgen!
