Afgelopen jaar waren ze al flink in het nieuws: de immense protesten tegen de Dakota-pijplijnen bij het Standing Rock indianenreservaat in Amerika. Er is veel onrecht aangedaan aan de oorspronkelijke bewoners die voor het behoud van een universele basisbehoefte protesteerden: schoon drinkwater.
Mede door het gebruik van buitensporig politiegeweld en agressieve acties van enkele private bewakingsbedrijven zijn er flink wat gewonden gevallen, en is het daar flink uit de klauwen gelopen. Ook de arrestaties waren te betreuren van de vele sympathisanten die dit protest steunden.
Op initiatief van enkele muzikanten, en in samenwerking met de jongens van CRL-studios is er nu een immense benefietcompilatie tot stand gekomen waarvan de gehele opbrengst aan de Standing Rock-foundation wordt geschonken.
In totaal werken er meer dan zestig verschillende bands en artiesten mee aan Sacred Territories, Allen hebben een exclusief nummer (of een remix) geschonken. De compilatie staat dus vol met tracks die nog niet eerder zijn uitgebracht en de line up is echt het neusje van de zalm.
Op Sacred Territories staat in totaal drie en een half uur muziek: een mooie mix van bekende, gerenommeerde namen en nieuw talent uit de ambient-, industrial-, IDM-, elektronica- en noisescène.

ENGLISH VERSION
Last year the massive protests against the Dakota pipelines in the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in America was daily featured at news. A lot of injustice has been done towards people who were protesting for the preservation of an universal basic need: clean drinking water. Because of the use of excessive police violence and aggressive actions of some private security companies, many people got wounded, not to mention the many arrests of sympathizers who supported this protest.
At the initiative of some musicians, and together with the guys from CRL studios an immense benefit compilation is available now, and all donations will be given to the Standing Rock-foundation.
In total more than sixty different bands and artists participated. All of them recorded an exclusive track (or a remix) . All tracks that have not been previously released and with a line-up that is really the cream of the crop of well-known, reputable names and new talent from the ambient-, industrial-, IDM, electronics and noise scene.
